The job of a historian is put themselves in the shoes of those who have documented certain events in history. Through these first-hand accounts a historian paints a picture of a particular moment and attempts to prove a point. There are many pitfalls that must be avoided during this process. A historian is able to overcome these obstacles by being skeptical of the information that is already provided and by keeping an objective view throughout the process. It is easy for a historian to be overcome by bias and not analyze their sources with a neutral point of view. The most successful ones are able to report their findings accurately and in a way that supports their argument. There was little opposition to this claim because the people of Cuba had lived their whole lives under a corrupt government. To them this was the normal way of politics. In light of this, Batista was easily able to transform the weak government into a dictatorship. His intentions became clear to the public when the announcement of a â€Å"disciplined democracy† was made. This so called democracy put an end to all future elections and ushered in a short era of government profiting organized crime. For many Cubans this is where Batista crossed the line. With Batista’s notoriety of harsh punishment, the thought of this regime becoming indefinite was too much. Opposition groups began to spring up in an attempt to overthrow the Batista regime. Most of the groups lacked organization, unity, and military power which made them ineffective. A young lawyer by the name of Fidel Castro believed that he could unite Cuba against the opp ressive government. He founded the â€Å"26th of July Movement† in the wake of the Cuban Revolution. Question: Discuss about the Global Business Motive and Advantage. Answer: Summary and review of journal articles The aim of this research paper is to find out the common communication language that is used by the businesspeople to do- business being the limitation of the territories. The method of data collection used in this article was questionnaire survey and related interviews so that information regarding the perceptions of Finnish and Swedish employees concerning the communication cultures and communicative practices in global companies can be accurately obtained. 400 respondents and 31 employees were taken into consideration for data collection. Data are gathered from e-mail survey also with additional 103 respondents among which 52 are Finnishand 51 are Swedish. It is found that English is the language in which all the businesspeople communicate with each other hassle free. The significance of this article is to present the importance of communication in the global business. This research article also represents some projects that were initiated for developing the communication among two nations, where linguistic differences are there. The strengths of article is that a huge number of respondents are taken into consideration and the concept of the ELF and BELF are clearly defines along with its significance to proof that English is the one language that is use by global marketers for communication. However, the article suffers the disadvantage of not including the numerical analysis to avoid the biasness of the research result. I have planned to use the term Global Communicative Competence, The knowhow project and Scandinavian. The aim of the article is to highlight the significance of global value chains, value creation and capture along with the key roles of global supermarket and the impact of economic crisis on global business. A literature survey have been conducted in this research paper that represents that in order to process a successful global business, supply chain system has to be effective. Data are collected from the past and present data from the academic publications and organization, who are connected with economic development through global business like- World Trade Organization (WTO), World Bank, International Labor Organization and Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Findings/Interpretations It is stated that efficient and timely distribution of goods are important in executing the global supply chain effectively. It is also found that governance is the centerpiece of GVC analysis through which the profit and risk distribution according to the capability of a nation that are associated with global business. It is also found that there are three network form of GVC governance- modular, relational and captive. The strength of the article is that all the sources are authentic and reliable. A framework is developed based on the important international organizations that are liable for economic expansion. The weakness of this article is that no survey has been conducted based on this research topic and all the data used in this study are outdated. Thus, accurate scenario of the position and benefit of global business cannot be precisely drawn. I have decided to use the key terms of Global value chain, International/Global Purchasing and Outsourcing and Market governance, Modular governance, Relational governanc and Captive governance. This research projects aims to highlight the main drivers for globalization and also the various characteristics of a small business so that it can expand their business globally. The data for the research are collected from secondary sources. These secondary data are published by McKinsey and Company. The data are collected from all the government sites and GDP of different nations contributed by small businesses are also collected like- in US, family businesses represent 90% of all business and they contribute 60% of the total GDP for the nation. It is found from the research that competitive forces and family demands are the push factors that allow a home business to grow globally. In addition to that it is also found that desirable location of the business, networks and alliances and preemptive positions are the ooull factors of the global expansion for small business. Significance/contribution of the article The research paper also represents a framework that evaluates global market opportunities and business capabilities. Another importance significance of this research study is that it illustrates the emerging economic and demographic trends that allow any business to prosper. In this article, the factors those are liable for masking a family business to grow globally are highlighted. The strengths of article are that both the brighter and darker side of global expansion of the home business is provided with evidences and proper explanation. However, the research paper suffer from the disadvantage that no numerical analysis was carried and hence an unbiased accurate results cannot be get that allow a home business to grow in real time. I have planned to use the terms Globalization, economic and demographic trends, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) ND The macro imperatives. The Great Gatsby6 Argumentative Essay Example For Students

The Great Gatsby6 Argumentative Essay Throughout the course of any literary work many of the characters go though some sort of a change. These changes maybe life lessons which are necessary to obtain in life. These lessons include undergoing a development of responsibility or morality. In The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Nick Carraway is a character that develops a sense of moral responsibility throughout the novel. This novel opens in the summer of 1922 in West Egg, Long Island. The main character, Nick Carraway moves to Long Island to begin his career in the bond business. It is here where his cousin Daisy Buchanan lives with her husband Tom. Nick also meets his wealthy neighbor when Jay Gatsby invites Nick to a party. They become good friends and Nick Carraway learns about Jays mysterious past as well as the past between Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan. It is Jay Gatsbys corruption of the American Dream which leads toward his inevitable downfall. Nick Carraway, Jay Gatsby, and Daisy Buchanan make up the three ma in characters of this novel. Nick Carraway is the narrator of this novel and the most important character. Nick is a tolerant person and is also not willing to judge people. His sympathy for other people in particular Jay Gatsby is shown through this quote, If personality is an ubroken series of successful gestures, then there was something gorgeous about him, some heightened sensitivity to the promises of life, as if he were related to one of those intricate machines that register earthquakes ten thousand miles away(6). Jay Gatsby is wealthy and has everything except his golden girl. He will do anything to fulfill his American dream by winning the heart of Daisy Buchanan. However, it is his controversial career and his controversial past which is described as, I found out what your drug stores were. He turned to us and spoke rapidly. He and this Wolfshiem bought up a lot of side-street drug stores here and in Chicago and sold grain alcohol over the counter. Thats one of his little stunts. I picked him for a bootlegger the first time I saw him and I wasnt far wrong.(141). Daisy Buchanan is the wife of Tom Buchanan and is having an affair with Jay Gatsby. In this novel she is the golden girl that every mans desires. However, Daisy as well as her husband were careless and cold hearted people, They were careless people, Tom and Daisy-they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast clearness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made(188). What makes a novel unique is its style of writing F. Scott Fitzgerald accomplishes this by the use of voice, tone, and time. Nick Carraway is the narrator of this novel and includes himself in the plot. Nick confines the reader only to what he can experience and hear. Also, Nick Carraway produces many moral judgments of the other characters, which he relays to the reader. This allows opinions to be made by a person in the action. Eq ually important to they style of writing, the author uses tone. In order for the mood to be set the author uses images with color, sound, and detail. Nick describes the atmosphere of one of Gatsbys parties as, The moon had risen higher, and floating in the Sound was a triangle of silver scales, trembling a little to the stiff, tinny drip of the banjoes on the lawn.(51). Furthermore the time span in which the story unfolds adds to they style of writing. Nicks story develops chronologically in the novels present from early summer to October. On the contrary, the reader needs information to understand Gatsbys past, which appears in flashbacks. This allows for the integration of Gatsby and the development of the plot. Consequently the use of voice, tone, and time enhances the overall theme and impression of the piece. One of the many themes the author represents throughout the course of the literary work is the corruption of the American dream. Jay Gatsby is a man who believes that he c an fulfill his romantic desires with his wealth. Referring to the title The Great Gatsby, Jay is neither great nor is his real name Gatsby. He is a crook and a bootlegger, who involves himself with the man who fixes the 1919 World Series. Besides Jay, Daisy and Tom are characters who represent the corruption of the American dream. They are both indirectly the cause of Gatsbys death. Morality is a life lesson, which should be obtained in a persons lifetime. Without these morals a person cannot succeed in life. This is shown through the character Jay Gatsby. However, Nick Carraway does obtain this life lesson and he benefits from it.
